Always for Christ
You gave your children the gift of God.
Your faith, guidance, unfailing, pure love.
Just what was needed You'd always provide.
Even in empty times there was faith and hope.
Final words, there were none
But from far deep inside we heard your love,
Concern for us was in your eyes
"I'm sorry" I saw, then: "Trust in the Lord.
His Spirit will guide you through."
It took time but we finally heard you.
Rent by sadness, realization, truth
our hearts, minds finally followed yours.
One hard, silent look shouting "let me go!"
You felt your pain was over, time to go.
tear filled moments, as I read to you
leaning on your love, I said "So."
Too young for such pain, too young to die.-
Much too full of life, love - young in your mind.
Why now, when I hadn't built you a home, given
you more honor, shown enough respect and love?
I can hear you now, "You all are my love, I have
Jesus to go home to now, live your life for Christ.
Honor Him and that will honor me. I've got to go;
home and rest awaits me." "Let me go."
Last breathes lead slowly away,
less labored than in many years.
Curtains close and eyes shed tears.
'On a Hill Far Away' begins to play.
How do I live up to the life you sought?
"Not me, but for Christ. Do everything for Him."
What you showed was the proper way to live,
no matter what it cost.
Dearest and best lesson taught,
humility through emulation.
With your Christ-pleasing living,
you didn't care what was lost.
It was always for Christ.
Your blessed life;
your passing away;
each moment, each day.
